Belle Isle Sur Risle - Chateau Hotel & Spa

Fabulously situated in the midst of ancient cypress trees and beautiful grounds, this gorgeous old manner house has been lovingly converted into a luxury hotel with swimming pool, sauna , steam room and gym. The property retains its original character which is reflected in the decor and fittings. We slept in the Orangery in a spacious room with ready access to the grounds where we walked with our dog. The restaurant and food were superb, the owner charming , and the staff friendly and efficient. I could not recommend this hotel too highly. It is perfect.

The small castle has charm and is located in a quiet area. We booked half board and very much enjoyed both the champagne breakfast as the elaborate dinners with decent quality food and excellent wines. Staff was friendly. The room was large with a small terrace and the bed was comfortable.

Nice, quiet out of the way castle. Close to honfleur and convenient to the château de Breuil which has a Calvados distillery tour. We were given coupons by the château de belle isle sur Risle for a free tour. Had a wonderful dinner on our first night.

Surroundings are green and lush, property gives a Fawlty Towers vibe - which i loved. Also the bath tube whirl pool in our room was very pleasurable.

Tim and all the staff were superb. kind, considerate and extremely passionate & knowledgeable about Normandy. the facilities were excellent, the kayaking made for an exciting trip, complete peace & tranquil making our stay truly relaxing. having air conditioning was bliss and a real bonus helping the family to get a good nights sleep. The quality of the food was wonderful, a strong selection of wines to compliment our dinner.
